A Malaria Elimination Business Plan writing workshop was held at Mika Convention Centre in Chongwe, from 19th to 22nd September 2023. The meeting was made possible with support from the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA), through the End Malaria Council (EMC). The EMC secretariat, PAMO-Plus and NMEC coordinated the workshop.
The main objective of the workshop was to draft the National Malaria Business Plan 2024 – 2030. Among the specific objectives were to review the National Malaria Elimination Strategic Plan 2022 to 2026 and determine resource needs; to develop a business case and develop project proposals for generating resources. This would ultimately provide a roadmap to elimination.
The 4-day workshop drew participants from various sectors such as Government, private, civil society, faith leaders, the youth and partners in the national malaria elimination program.
A new Business Plan is being developed, to mobilize the required resources in a coordinated and collaborative approach, by bringing partners together to provide scaled and sustainable financing, measure progress and achieve malaria elimination.
